September 24, 2007The beach: a place to go to get away from the rest of the world. a place to relax and explore. a place to forget about everything but the here and now. it may just be a day getaway, but it still counts as a holiday: )
That is my definition of the beach. I love going to the beach, its so calming to just take your camera and remove your shoes and just explore. Yesterday Phil and I went to pacific city for the day. we were celebrating our last day of freedom, last day of summer before school starts today. It was so much fun to explore and just enjoy eachothers company.
We went to lunch, took pictures on the beach while exploring and even walked in the water. It was a day to just "be" and not to overthink too much. It was a day that I will keep alive in my memories for many days to come and revisit everytime I'm dreading to do homework or go to class. For yesterday it was a holiday, but today it is a memory in my heart: )

Today in one of my classes my teacher said a quote that really got to me so I wanted to share it with others. The Quote is:

This really got me thinking about myself and if I really do that. I realized that I did. It's hard sometimes because I can justify what I do or say by how I thought it sounded just like the quote. But what if I gave others that same treatment that I gave myself? I probably wouldn't be so upset all the time about how people act. Maybe if I took a few minutes to evaluate the situation and say to myself..I wonder what they meant by that instead of wow that sounded so rude I know they were trying to hurt me by that. Then I think life would be a lot easier.
In conclusion I am going to try to better myself and think more. I encourage any one else to do this as well, I think it could really make the holiday season be a lot happier.
This term I am taking a class that teaches about creative drama for elementary teachers. Although I have decided to change my major I would have to say that this is the class that I learned the most in this term. I really enjoyed going to this class and that was exciting for me. Tonight as I was finishing up my work for this class I came across this quote and it really stood out to me. I have always known how important teachers are but this quote shows how it should be. I just hope that someday I can be a teacher like this. I hope with all my heart that I dont ever discourage a student the way that I have had teachers discourage me and my hopes. As I get off of my soap box for the night here is the quote:

-Started off my day happily by messaging Phil back and forth:)
-Met another new teacher: )
-Started to feel more comfortable with the people in my cohort: )
-Started to feel more informed and yet still anxious about this very busy and intense schedule!
-Can't wait to find out my school assignments...next week sometime...

Day three of school
-Got to sleep in till 7:30 Yay me: )
-Got to talk to my wonderful boyfriend before school (makes for a good start!)
-Officially started my classes...should be busy that's for sure!
-Had a short day 10-3 with a hour lunch break, not too bad
-Signed my life away for student loans.....-Lots of reading and homework to do now....at least its not due till friday and next week: )

First day of school, first day of school: )
On my first day of school at Willamette:
-I was nervous...but I made it through the day: )
-I think I made some new friends: )
-Had some questions answered..still slightly frustrated with school schedule, but it will work out.
-Still a little worried in general, but hoping that will go away...
-Got to eat at the Wild Pear with new friends megan, becky and justine: )
-Went out of my comfort zone and did pretty well :)
-Got my student id...hate those stinkin pictures:/
Sad part of the day:
Missed Phil, but made it through the day hoping to get a call from him soon: )
=Overall, I am going back tomorrow and I have made it through another day: )

Thoughts on starting school again
Tomorrow is my first day at Willamette University and I am really excited to start the MAT program: ) I am a little nervous, kinda worried about a few things like if I will be able to find a job next year...But overall I am excited. I really think this is the right decision for me and the perfect timing. If I can't find a job right away I have many options until I can. I am excited to be able to make a difference in children's lives and be someone that they can look up to and someone who can motivate them and encourage them to follow their dreams no matter how impossible they may seem. This is something I've wanted to do ever since I can remember...be a teacher.
My only wish Phil was here so we could go to breakfast and he could be there for my first day, but I know that he is here in my heart :) I really miss him:(
Now to sleep and not over worry about this first day business: )

Something to try..
Here is a recipe for how to get beachy looking hair that I want to try...
Beachy Hair! You will need: 1 spray bottle (get one at the dollar store!) 1 tsp sea salt, 8 oz of warm water, a tsp of conditioner (I like coconut or some tropical scent, makes me feel like I'm in HI :) and it counteracts the dryness from the salt,) lastly, a dab of gel. Mix it all together in the bottle, spray on towel dried hair, scrunch and let dry naturally. For thicker or more oily hair, add 1/4 tsp of salt until you get your desired beachy look! (the more salt you add the beachier the look, but it'll also dry you out more) Enjoy!

my recent obsessions...
Sometimes I have the tendency to obsess over things..sometimes this is good other times it might get me in trouble with my wallet...here are some of my current obsessions: )
I really want to find some cool trees to take pictures of..I really like trees they are so pretty: )
I love sushi especially at Kyoto's with Phil...we went twice this week: )
Of course my obsession is never ending with chocolate especially See's Candies: )
The chocolate obsession continues with Starbucks hot chocolate..my favorite: )
Smallville is Phil and my newest tv show obsession we are almost done with season 2: )
And this wonderful jacket from bb dakota that I have been eyeing for the past year...someday: )
Lastly...I really like this sweater from banana republic the color is really pretty and I like how you could wear the sweater with anything: )
